This course is aimed at those who wish to develop their indoor climbing capabilities. It is also the next step to becoming a competent outdoor climber. The course will cover all aspects of Lead Climbing and belaying, as well as introducing some more advanced movement techniques.
You will learn:
- Movement skills
- Clipping extenders / Quick draws
- Preparing the rope for lead climbing
- Belay stance and anchoring
- Lead belaying
- Holding a fall / falling
- Coiling the rope
In order to participate in this course you must be 16 years + and need to be top roping French grade 5+ confidently on a regular basis. You also have to be a registered competent climber at Leisure World Tiptree who can belay a climber on top rope without supervision.
Courses will run on either Friday evening or on one day of the weekend, depending on instructor availability and the customer demand. Once we have enough people interested to run a course, everyone will be contacted to finalise the date and payment will then be required to guarantee your place.
