Swim England Qualifications

Join our course at Leisure World Colchester to gain the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming.
SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching)
This is a teaching qualification that will enable successful candidates to actively support a more senior qualified swimming teacher at any level in the delivery of a pre-prepared session.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must be 16 years of age at the start of the course. Learners are not required to have any prior experience of teaching.

SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) Brochure
SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming
This is a teaching qualification that will enable successful candidates to be a qualified swimming teacher and deliver aquatics lesson.
You will have an understanding of the aquatic environment and an understanding of appropriate corrections to common aquatic faults.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the start of the course and hold a Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) or an ASA Level 1 Award in Teaching Aquatics or an equivalent Swim England/ASA qualification certificated after 1994. If you do not hold one of the above pre-requisites, you will not be able to attend the course; evidence must be seen by the tutor on the first day of the course.

At Leisure World Colchester
Junior award of the Royal Lifesaving Society Award contains survival, rescue, life-support and water safety.
Leisure World were awarded the Essex Branch Rookie Bronze Shield at the recent Rookie Life Saving Awards.
Completes all Key Stage 2 water safety elements of the National Curriculum. This award is for levels 8 and above or for those who can swim three strokes at 50m each.

Rescue Test For Swimming Teachers

This is a basic test of rescue knowledge and skills for people teaching swimming, water safety and other programmed, pool-based disciplines
The NRASTC award requires a minimum of 8 hours Renewal – 16 hours for new candidates.
