National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

This award is aimed at those working as a lifeguard or those intending to. It calls for a high degree of swimming ability, watermanship and a mature approach.

8.00am – 5.30pm per day for ages 16+

Next Dates: 

26 October – 1 November 2026 (not including Saturday 31 October)
15 – 21 February 2027 (not including Saturday 20 February)
5 April – 11 April 2027 (not including Saturday 10 April)

Price: £346.50 for the full course (Includes all course materials and assessment fees).

Swim England Qualification New Level 2 in Teaching Swimming

At Leisure World Colchester

Dates: 18th – 24th July 2026

Venue: Leisure World Colchester.

Tutor: Lynesey – Swim England’s Silver Educator the year 2025 and 2026.

Price: £693 per person

This swimming instructor course qualifies successful learners to deliver Swim England’s Learn to Swim Programme.
You will have a full understanding of how to teach swimming and appropriate corrections to common swimming faults.
Entry Requirements: No level 1 qualification needed. Must be 16 years of age prior to the start date of the course.

Rookie Lifeguard Course

At Leisure World Colchester

Junior award of the Royal Lifesaving Society Award contains survival, rescue, life-support and water safety.

Leisure World were awarded the Essex Branch Rookie Bronze Shield at the recent Rookie Life Saving Awards.

Completes all Key Stage 2 water safety elements of the National Curriculum. This award is for levels 8 and above or for those who can swim three strokes at 50m each.
