Functional Training Area

The Functional Training Area adds a new dimension to your training. This purpose built, high intensity functional workout area includes bespoke flooring and a Life Fitness SYNRGY 360 system, which is the base for a range of HIIT, Core and Circuits classes within the gym.

There is also a variety of lifting racks, with olympic bars and a variety of plates to complement the existing free weights area in Activa. 

The FTA is also equipped with TRX bands, a range of kettlebells, jump boxes, battle ropes, punchbag, sledge and flipping tyres.

Member of the Month

Our Member of the Month is Neil Gibb

Neil has been having personal training sessions with Tiia for just over one year now. Neil originally came to Tiia for help for his knee and shoulder issues along with wanting motivation to be healthy and active.

Having these one hour sessions has helped him greatly improve mobility in his shoulders and strengthened his legs. Neil is always up for a challenge whether it be a more advanced exercise or a couple more repetitions – he always gives his 100%!

“There’s something very special about Tiia. Over the years I’ve been to quite a few personal trainers and have never got beyond about four or five sessions. They’ve often occurred as over complex, with too much technical information, and crucially not tailored to my needs – one of which is working with what was a fairly serious knee injury. I’ve now done over 30 sessions with Tiia and have both enjoyed the process (it’s not been without it’s hard bits) and felt the benefits. She manages to combine a very human touch with motivation and coaching. And balances adaption with challenge. I think she’s particularly good for someone who wants to get fit and strong but isn’t a natural gym goer.”- Neil.
